How to play Wiki Wander

1

We draw start and target

You see the articles only when the game starts. Every game is a new route through Wikipedia.

2

Links only

No search box, no address bar. Follow associations: bagel → city → country → space mission → the Moon.

3

Fewest clicks wins

Wit beats fast fingers. Going back to the previous article counts as a click too.

  1. Bagel
  2. New York City

Four ways to play

Classic

Just you and Wikipedia. Pick a category and difficulty.

Daily Challenge

One route for everyone, a new one every day. Build your streak.

Duel

Challenge a friend or a random league rival. You take turns on the same route.

Group game

A room for your crew, a code to join and a live game, round by round.

Leagues and seasons

Compete in duels and climb up. A season lasts a week and your first 10 matches count — skill wins, not the number of games. The top 5 move up and earn a season badge.

What is a Wikipedia race?

A Wikipedia race — also called a wiki race or the Wikipedia game — is a classic pastime: you start on one article and try to reach another by clicking links only. Wiki Wander turns it into a full game, with random routes, rankings, leagues and duels with friends.

Every route is a small journey through knowledge. Along the way you run into history, science, sport and pop culture — and learn how topics connect. It runs in your browser, on the English and Polish Wikipedia, with nothing to install.

Frequently asked questions

Is Wiki Wander free?
Yes. The game and every item in the Wardrobe are free.
Do I need an account?
To play the full game — yes. Without an account you can play the demo: always the same route, no saved result.
How does a duel work?
You challenge a rival and play the route first, right away. Your rival has 24 hours to play the same route. Fewer clicks wins; on a tie, the shorter time.
How many people can play in a group?
Up to 8 in one room. Join with a code or a link from the host.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes, in the browser — on a phone, tablet or computer.
Where do the articles come from?
From Wikipedia, in English or Polish. The content is licensed under CC BY-SA.
